Ode to the Banished Immortal
Perilous cliffs and rugged trails abound,
The winding path stretches long and unbound.
I draw my blade, the waters rage on,
Yet still, I steer my lone boat along.
Through ages past, poets and wine entwine,
Tonight, with you, I share this divine.
A single night, the white horse rides proud,
But tired, like a bird in a cage, unbowed.
New tea, old wine, words blooming with grace,
Sword still in its sheath, yet the dust storms race.
Half a life fleeting, I’ve seen splendors vast,
Farewells inscribed in the books of the past.
Seek, quest, dream, the ordinary find,
A poem eternal, blossoms in time.
On Mount Lu alone, I’ll shed no tear,
Leave this world, gaze at waterfalls near.
Youthful zeal brings a lifetime of ache,
Ink and brush wielded, stars to awake.
By moonlight, countless love words composed,
Long is the journey where troubles erode.
New tea, old wine, words blooming with grace,
Sword still in its sheath, yet the dust storms race.
Half a life fleeting, I’ve seen splendors vast,
Farewells inscribed in the books of the past.

Who gazes back from the glow’s last gleam?

To the next life, with you, drink yet.
