  • SkyGrass: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • Interviewer: What’s it like performing in a musical for the first time?
  • SkyGrass: I feel really happy.
  • Interviewer: Happy about...?
  • SkyGrass: Happy that… I didn't forget any lines.
  • Interviewer: Oh, that’s fantastic! How does acting in a musical compare to singing live as a singer?
  • SkyGrass: As an actor, you get to embody characters that differ from your own personality, which lets me vent a bit. Performing my own live performances… well, it’s just about being me.
  • Interviewer: Is taking on a character with a different personality challenging for you?
  • SkyGrass: Definitely, this role is quite extroverted— very lively and outgoing, while I’m naturally more on the introverted side. It’s a challenge, but I really like people with that kind of energy.
  • Interviewer: Any regrets choosing YueYuan over XinChen?
  • SkyGrass: Not at all. Why would I? I’ve always wanted to explore being more extroverted. Not that there’s anything wrong with being introverted, but personally, I aspire to be more outgoing.
  • Interviewer: So, in a way, you’re living out that dream through this role.
  • SkyGrass: Exactly. I’m achieving a bit of self-fulfillment through this character.
  • Interviewer: What’s the biggest challenge in performing a musical?
  • SkyGrass: The challenge... would be the lines. Sometimes I compress my lines. I speed through them too quickly, especially when I get nervous.
  • Interviewer: Have you overcome that issue now?
  • SkyGrass: Now... when I get nervous, no, not yet. When I’m not nervous, yes. I need to keep pushing myself.
  • Interviewer: Any thoughts on the new work partners in this musical?
  • SkyGrass: I think it's a very pleasant and friendly working environment. Everyone is kind and cute, a very positive group of buddies, and very humorous. (To coworkers) What? Why are you laughing? Hahaha. Especially our Yuki, she's particularly attentive to detail. After each rehearsal, she gives me lots of notes, pinpointing where I need to improve. Very meticulous, like a great producer. And our Jue, little JueJue, Wang JueYuHan, she's like... just mentioning her name makes you happy. She's a mood booster; just talking to her can brighten your day. She's also great at both setting up and delivering jokes. Truly, the king of comedy, very funny and humorous. Not that she's wacky, but she's witty. Mhm. And our Zuo YiPing, she looks like a little sister but is actually very suited to be a teacher, not in a preachy way. (Laughter from SkyGrass and coworkers) I'm pre... (Cameraman: "precise") I'm very precise.
  • Interviewer: It’s hard to tell if Wang SkyGrass is praising others or being sarcastically critical.
  • SkyGrass: Zuo Yiping, ... (to the colleague) I'm not scolding you! (Everyone laughs) Funny.
  • Interviewer: Oh no.
  • SkyGrass: I wasn't saying you like to lecture people. (Everyone laughs) What I mean is, uh, when there's something I don’t get, Zuo, ‘Teacher Zuo’ helps me understand her perspective seriously, helping me as an actor to know how and what to perform. It makes complex ideas accessible to me. After all, this is my first musical. So, I'm really grateful to her and to Wang JueYuhan. These two young cast... these people... okay. I'm also lucky to be part of this cast, truly happy about it. They've added a vibrant stroke to my life. Take it again. A treasure in my journey.
  • Interviewer: Alright, alright, the human treasure speaks of treasures.
  • SkyGrass: You all... you're also 'human treasures' , deserving of respect from the world. My respect. Respect.
